Best WordPress Plugin For Internal Links? Simple: Link Whisper

Best WordPress Plugin For Internal Links Simple Link Whisper

If you want to improve your blog’s internal linking, there’s a plugin called Link Whisper that you simply cannot afford to miss…

Why? Because it makes adding and managing internal links on your blog an absolute breeze.

Link Whisper makes managing and adding in internal links – as well as links inside your posts – insanely simple.

And once you have Link Whisper added to your workflow, you’ll never have to worry about internal links again.

And it doesn’t matter if you’re starting with a brand new site or a legacy site, this plugin makes adding and managing internal links a cinch.

I’ve been using Link Whisper on all my blogs for over 12 months now.

It has saved me hours of work, helped me improve traffic on all my sites, and it has made my internal linking strategy not only manageable but easy to deploy across my entire team.

EXCLUSIVE 15% LIFETIME DISCOUNT

Link Whisper’s Spencer is a cool dude. I have a lot of time for him. And after he read this post he did me a solid and gave me a 15% discount to pass onto readers of OPTIMALSAUCE. You can get your exclusive discount right here.

What is Link Whisper Anyway?

Back in the day, doing internal linking was a monumental pain in the ass.

It took hours and hours, and you needed a clear strategy, a strategy your entire team and writers adhered to.

If someone on your team didn’t follow the guidelines, it created problems – orphan posts.

Orphan posts accumulate over time, pages don’t pass link juice, and things begin to get messy, unorganised.

But that’s just the way it was; even today, some SEOs will tell you to avoid tools like Link Whisper.

Why?

Because they “believe” that it is heresy, that allowing AI to do anything related to SEO is wrong.

I couldn’t agree less. You get Luddites in all walks of life.

Me? I’d never go back to not using Link Whisper. And the reason is simple: it makes my life a hell of a lot easier.

How Link Whisper Works

Link Whisper uses AI and machine learning to scan your site and find potential link opportunities.

In mere seconds, it can scan your entire site. It will find orphan pages, broken links, 404s – all the bad stuff.

You can use it to auto-link certain keywords which is great for quickly building content silos (AKA content hubs), and you can use it to keep track of how many links each of your pages has pointing at it.

Without a tool like Link Whisper, you’re stuck using janky reports in SEMRush, Ahrefs, or Google Search Console.

There is no downside to using Link Whisper, as far I am concerned.

I’m a huge fan of doing less “manual work” on my blogs, and Link Whisper has probably saved me weeks of work in the time I’ve been using it.

I publish a post, go to the bottom of the page inside the WordPress editor, select Add Internal Links, and Link Whisper pulls in all the pages on my site where I can add links.

You can even search by specific keywords, so if your new post is about Basketball Sneakers, you can enter Basketball Sneakers into Link Whisper and it will pull in all the posts on your blog that mention Basketball Sneakers.

All you have to do is select the ones you want and then hit Add Links.

You can add as many or as little as you like. You can even edit the anchor text inside the Link Whisper dashboard too.
Or change the keyword, so say you want to link from posts about Baseball Sneakers, just switch the keyword inside the search tool and it’ll find posts about Baseball Sneakers instead.

Compared to manually doing internal links, a process that involves hours and hours of time (and spreadsheets), this approach isn’t just a breath of fresh air, it is goddamn revolutionary.

Link Whisper also shows you how many internal links are pointing at each page inside your WordPress dashboard too, so you can see if adding in a few more has any affect on its traffic and ranking.

In my own personal experience, as well as the fact that Google has confirmed many times that internal links are very important for SEO, I have seen massive improvements in the ranking of my content after using Link Whisper.

I’ve seen posts jump from position 90-100 to 11-30 after adding in a few links; I’ve ranked content hubs faster; and I’ve revived older posts with fresh internal links.

Even conservatively, I’d say Link Whisper, if used properly, could net you a 20-30% boost in traffic in a matter of weeks.

What About Auto-Linking Keywords?

Link Whisper will do this too, so you can take any keyword – let’s say sunglasses for cats, for instance – and then set Link Whisper to automatically add a hyperlink of your choice every time that keyword appears on your site.

This is great for building out content silos fast; if you have a bunch of related content – say 20 or even 100 posts – and you want them all pointing at one, core piece of content, you can use Link Whisper’s auto-linking tool to do this.

You should, however, use this feature with discretion; you do not want to use it all the time – that’s spammy.

However, for quickly building out content silos, I have found this feature of Link Whisper invaluable. And I haven’t experienced any downsides either – even when using the same anchor text for a single post or page.

But I have been careful with my usage of this aspect of the tool; I’ve only used it in a couple of instances on my sites. So far, it is working great.

Drive Traffic To Your Landing Pages

Google doesn’t like pop-ups, and yet they’re great for converting readers into email subscribers. If you want to be ultra-safe, you’ll avoid pop-ups on your site – personally, I still use them.

You can set this all up inside Link Whisper, adding the landing page’s URL to that specific keyword and this will ensure every time you write Learn About Crypto, it will be auto-linked to your landing pages.

Overtime, this will help with conversions and getting people on your email list.

Another example? Say you have a deals section on your blog, where you pull in the latest deals and coupons for your niche.

You could use Link Whisper to auto-link to this page by inputting the following keyword triggers:

  • Deals Pages
  • Latest Deals
  • Latest Coupons
  • Deals

This will help with getting more people onto your deals pages. You can also use it to push traffic to affiliate offers on your site as well.

Is Link Whisper Worth It?

Internal linking on your blog is massively important. Google says so, and so too do all the best SEOs online. Internal links help pass link juice, help Google crawl your site, and they help build authority around new topics and keywords.

You need to do internal linking, basically – without it your rankings will suffer.

You can do all of this manually, of course, but if you’re anything like me and you like things to be easy and not take a long time, you’ll just opt for something like Link Whisper.

The plugin isn’t cheap by usual plugin standards but for what it can do for your site and your workflow, I’d gladly pay double for it knowing what I do now.

I cannot emphasise just how useful this plugin is from an SEO perspective. If you want to rank better, this brilliant link management tool is a must-have.

And as far as I’m aware, there is nothing else quite like available on the market right now…
